Dysgraphia

Dysgraphia is a deficiency in the ability to write regardless of the ability to read, but not necessarily due to intellectual impairment. Children with dysgraphia often can write on some level, but often lack co-ordination. They can also lack basic spelling skills and often will write the wrong word when trying to formulate thoughts (on paper).

Keyboard Classroom can help children with Dysgraphia because:

  • Handwriting requires muscle control and brain organization. Keyboarding doesn’t.
  • Keyboarding bypasses the visual confusion created by writing.
  • Feedback is immediate. Students know right away how they succeeded.
  • Typing is more engaging than writing.
